The Visionary

Named in honour of Bill Taylor Senior, The Visionary is Taylors new pinnacle release. An estate grown and bottled Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, it is crafted from the very finest fruit grown on the Taylor family Auburn estate vineyard. The inaugural 2009 vintage release is a bold step forward in Taylors continued journey across generations crafting refined and distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon wines.

 

Befitting its ultra-luxury position atop Taylors premium wine portfolio, the design brief for The Visionary was to create a timeless label that epitomised the craftsmanship of the wine itself with emphasis on the use of negative space. A large sculptured seahorse crest blind emboss combines with an individual bottom label tear strip, fine detail foiling and hand numbering. The use of Cotone Bianco uncoated paper, with its unique texture and natural colouration provides further emphasis to the individual, handmade and hand labelled qualities of this remarkable wine.

The brilliant yet challenging design by The Collective for The Visionary was embraced by the team at Collotype Griffith who dared to venture where other label printers feared to tread. From our very first conversation with them the passion, dedication and innovation that they brought to bear in order to bring this label to life were of the very highest calibre. The end result is a masterpiece that owes as much to the Collotype Griffith team as it does to The Collective’s brilliant design.
