The inspiration for Wine X Sam‘s Victorian range stems from the remarkable Victorian era. It was during that period in 1842 that winemaker Sam Plunkett’s farming family arrived in Australia. The name ‘The Victorian’ is a double entendre as for this range the winery sources fruit from across the state; this is celebrated in the eclectic landscape imagery on the label.
The Victorian’s labels stand out and it’s not hard to see why. All varietals in the range have a stunningly unique label design, each a surrealist countryside illustration. The interesting characters in the illustrations range from flying hares to a female centaur brandishing a gramophone.
