20 years ago, Domenic Torzi and Tracy Matthews stumbled across a small, frost-pocketed hollow of Mount Mckenzie in the Eden Valley, and fell in love with the area for its remoteness and diverse thin soils.
The vines went in, the frosts came, the yields were low and the wines created. Reflecting Domenic’s Calabrian – Abruzzese heritage, Frost Dodger was created and crafted in the traditional Italian appassimento dry racking method.
The label has recently been refreshed by Barossa local and friend, Ben Hull. A beautiful grain emboss symbolises frost crystals and complements the fine silver foil representation of the vine.
