The skies over High Eden are typified by Cirrus cloud formations for most of the growing season, making for a perfect name for this wine, and inspiration for the label colour.
“We have been making Riesling from High Eden for nearly 10 years and always blending it into our ‘Freya’ Eden Valley regional Riesling. The vineyard is at 530m on shallow sandy loam and schist soils, incredibly exposed to the elements and ultra-low yielding. In 2015 this particular parcel of High Eden Riesling was outstanding and called for a special bottling of the Single Vineyard,” said Cory Ryan of Sons of Eden.
The quality demanded a superior textured paper, with silver foil and high build screen highlighting key branding, and individual numbering reinforcing the limited availability with only 1200 bottles made.
A retro Riesling bottle pays homage to the reputation of the region for making decades of classic Riesling styles.
