The Cirillo family are custodians of what is believed to be one of the oldest Grenache vineyards in the world planted in 1848, located in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Under the careful management of owner / winemaker Marco Cirillo, these magnificent old vines produce limited quantities of Cirillo 1850 Ancestor Vine Grenache.
The label speaks of history, old vines and earthy texture. The illustration of one of the magnificent original vines was produced by Marco’s brother Tony, with the design being carried out by Marco himself.
The latest bottling features the Barossa Trust Mark ‘wax seal’ having met the standards required to be awarded this accolade in 2015.
