The design brief was to create a label that firstly felt like Adelaide, secondly reflected the artisan nature of the product and lastly appeared to have heritage. The solution was to draw upon Adelaide’s reputation of being a garden city in creating a botanical illustration in the style of decorative drawings of the 1800’s – the time of settlement in South Australia. This also worked to portray the lovely botanical flavouring of Adelaide Gin. The use of copper foil was chosen as a nod to early settlement in Adelaide and the prosperous copper mines of the time. Above all the label speaks to the spirit of the city.
